Hey Beauties!
One of my favorite holidays to create manicures for is Valentine’s Day. It’s probably because I love wearing pinks and reds and this holiday is based almost solely around that color scheme. I loved creating the sweet scallop manicure last year, and this year I’ve come up with three different ideas based on your mood. Are you feeling sexy, sweet or flirty this Valentine's Day? Take your pick below!
Sexy Valentine’s Day Manicure
For the sexy manicure, I created a monochromatic red skittle mani using ‘Tartan Rose’, ‘Ruby Rose’ and ‘Rose À La Mode’. The rich, seductive burgundy shade of ‘Tartan Rose’ was used most prominently with little peeks of ‘Ruby Rose’ and ‘Rose À La Mode’ for interest and mystery. What I love most about this color scheme is that it’s completely reds and pinks, even down to the crushed rose gold micro flakes that are in each of the formulas. It’s truly a classy and sexy look to wear this Valentine’s Day!

- On clean, prepared nails, paint 1 coat of your base coat on all of your fingernails.
- Paint 1 coat of ‘Tartan Rose’ on your thumb, index and middle fingernails.
- Paint 1 coat of ‘Ruby Rose’ on your ring fingernail.
- Paint 1 coat of ‘Rose À La Mode’ on your pinky fingernail.
- Repeat steps 2-4 one additional time, or until you reach the desired application opacity.
- Finish your manicure by topping each fingernail with a glossy top coat.
- Apply the Sugared Berries & Whipped Cream Cuticle Balm to keep your fingers and cuticles moisturized and looking great!

Sweet Valentine’s Day Manicure
I was going to say that the Sexy Valentine’s Day Manicure was my favorite, but, in all honesty, this one takes a pretty close second, if not first place. This manicure was inspired by a manicure worn by Margot Robbie at the Golden Globes this year. The manicure was done by nail artist Tom Bachik and he used the nail polishes, Essie Hi Maintenance and the FX Expressie Holo Top Coat. His manicure looks great, but I really wanted to recreate it with BLUSH nail polishes. Who do you think did it better?
I may be partial, but I love how ours turned out. It’s dreamy and sweet and ultra feminine. Not to mention that you get an extra hit of sparkle from the crushed rose gold micro flakes in ‘Rose À La Mode’. What's not to love about that?
I used to not be a huge fan of showing your nail line, but it’s become a bit of a fashion trend lately with the celebrities and I’m kind of starting to love it. The results are more natural and laid back while still looking polished and put together.

Flirty Valentine’s Day Manicure
Lastly we have the flirty Valentine’s Day Manicure. I was inspired by the french dotticure manicures that I’ve been seeing on Instagram lately. A french dotticure manicure combines the use of dots (with a dotting tool or toothpick) in the shape of a french manicure. So, basically, you are just dotting the tips of your nails in a sort of gradient fashion. I will say that this was a little more difficult than I thought it would be. In my mind, I was like, “Hey, it’s just some dots, it can’t be that hard, I even have an actual dotting tool.” And while it isn’t super difficult, it did actually take me a little more time and effort than I had initially planned. I’ve seen other versions of this where they use a nude or jelly shade for the base color instead of white and I’d definitely like to try that out as well!
Recreate the Flirty Valentine’s Day Manicure
- On clean, prepared nails, paint 1 coat of your base coat on all of your fingernails.
- Paint 1-2 coats of ‘Venetian Blinds’ on all of your fingernails.
- Put a few drops of 'Oh Là Là-guna' on a small piece of aluminum foil with the nail polish brush.
- Dip a dotting tool or toothpick into the pool of 'Oh Là Là-guna' on the aluminum foil and make random varied dot sizes on the tip of your nails as though you were only filling in the area that you would do for a french tip manicure. Do not completely fill in the space, you want to leave some open spaces for the other dot colors.
- Repeat steps 3-4 with ‘Clara’.
- Repeat steps 3-4 with ‘Velvet Cloak’.
- Repeat steps 3-6 until you achieve the level of dots that you desire.
- Once completely dry, finish your manicure with 1 coat of a glossy top coat on all fingernails. It’s important that your dots are completely dry before applying the top coat or they could smear and smudge.
- Apply the Blushed Cocoa Cuticle Balm to keep your fingers and cuticles moisturized and looking great!
